| Title: |
Residential location affects travel behavior, but how and why? The case of Copenhagen Metropolitan Area |
| Description: |
Criticisms of previous investigations into the relationship between urban structure and transport gave rise to this study of residential location and travel behaviour in the Copenhagen metropolitan area, using qualitative interviews as well as travel surveys. It concludes that the amount of travel is influenced first by location in relation to the main centre of the metropolitan area, and to a lesser extent by the distance to local centres although the specific influences of the urban structure of the Copenhagen metropolitan area affects travel behaviour within all the investigated subgroups. Includes appendices, methodology. |
