| Title: |
Clusters, Linkages and Spillovers: Methodology and POlicy Implications for the Two Dutch Mainports and the Rural North |
| Description: |
This paper uses new data to test hypotheses about the dynamics of regional economies and to challenge established spatial policy. Policy has focused on the transport clusters around Rotterdam and Amsterdam. But the study finds considerable vigour in North Netherlands, and generally suggests that non-transport clusters may be more important than the transport clusters promoted in Dutch spatial policy. The paper explains the method of this analysis and notes that it has been criticised. |
